Babysitters' Training CourseThe Canada Safety Council has been a leader in babysitter training since 1970. The Babysitters' Training Course is the oldest and most recognized course in Canada. Over a half a million young people have been trained across the country. Many organizations take part by offering the program across Canada. Some examples include School Boards, Child Care Centres, City Recreation Departments, Native Bands, Community Safety Councils, Canadian Forces Bases, Student Employment Centres and Community Lighthouse Programs. The Babysitters' Training Course is aimed at young people between the ages of 12-17 years who want to demonstrate their capabilities by completing the course under responsible direction. The Babysitters' Training Course is loaded with special features such as: Advice for Parents COURSE MATERIALS Instructor's Manual The course content was written by curriculum developers who acted as volunteers on the project. The Instructor's manual details program information with instructional outlines for each of eight sessions. No instructional training is required to present the course, thereby making it readily available for presentation by you. $26.50 Student Reference Book This book summarizes the course sessions and provides child care information that will be of value to the graduates during their babysitting years and their adult lives. The illustrated reference book includes group exercises and note taking pages. A summary sheet is included which can be used to collect important information from the employer at the beginning of each babysitting job. $6.25 Certification Each course graduate is presented with a wall certificate and graduation wallet card. These provide validation that the holder has completed ten hours of training and successfully passed a comprehensive examination on the course material.
