Summer Fire Quiz: Answers

1.B. A flashlight is the safest and most efficient way to make sure you can see in the dark.

2. A. Never, never use gasoline for anything except fuel for a gasoline engine.

3. B. Store cylinders outdoors away from sources of ignition, in a secure, well-ventilated area, always in an upright, vertical position. Never bring cylinders indoors or into an enclosed space, or keep them where they could be exposed to high temperatures.

4. C. The safest way to enjoy fireworks is to attend an outdoor display put on by trained, licensed professionals. A public display is safer and more spectacular than do-it-yourself fireworks in your back yard. Sparklers can burn as hot as 650 C and can ignite clothing.

5. D. Tragically, many serious fires could have been prevented by taking care with these items.
