The federal government has launched a website dedicated to bringing Canadians the most up-to-date information related to
Canada
’s state of pandemic preparedness.
The website, www.pandemicinfluenza.gc.ca, brings together sources of information from multiple federal departments in order to answer questions Canadians may have on the risk to themselves and their families, and to provide a variety of information tools on seasonal, avian and pandemic influenza.
“The potential for an influenza pandemic is an important public health issue,” Health Minister Tony Clement stated, “The effectiveness of our response will depend in part on our ability to communicate relevant information to Canadians, not just during a pandemic, but in advance of an outbreak”.
The website has is a valuable tool for Canadians, and the Canada Safety Council congratulates the federal government for taking steps to ensure Canadians have the information they need to make informed choices to protect their health and safety.
