Shredder Safety
Most Canadians are acutely aware of identity theft and its financial and emotional impact. That is why more and more personal shredders are finding their way into homes homes with curious children, affectionate pets, and plenty of distractions.
As consumers protect themselves by destroying documents with identifying information, they should also take precautions against possible injury. Fellowes recently introduced a shredder with Safe Sense technology, to protect users, children and pets from injury. An electronic sensor surrounds the shredder's "throat" (paper feed), and immediately shuts the machine down if it comes in contact with the energy field created by humans and warm-blooded animals.
