Good Bears Buckle Up is saving lives!

In July, a Co-operators Agent who had taken car seat training noticed a client's car seat was far too loose. So, he took the 20 minutes to tighten the tether and adjust the harnessing. He pressed into the car seat with one knee and tightened the seat-belt as much as possible

Little did he know that he was saving a child's life. A week later, the car collided with a transport truck and bounced into a hydro pole. While the other passengers were slightly injured, the child was not hurt. Police and ambulance attendants credited the correct installation of the car seat as the reason.

By September 15, Good Bears Buckle Up pilot clinics had inspected 222 seats, with a pass rate of 14 per cent (32 seats passed). By the time the pilot is complete in late October, over 300 seats will have been inspected.
